Sutro ES is the Richmond's hidden gem. A small school with caring staff and fun enrichment programs, both my children love and have loved their Sutro experience. My son developed his love of the arts here. He frequently asks me to take him to the SF ballet, museums and is constantly practicing his lessons from his school piano classes. He loves the organized yard sports and he is supported academically in both the classroom and after school programs. Yes, the facilities are due for an upgrade. But I don't judge a book by its cover. The teachers, staff, students and community are what makes this school special.
